I actually think that the composer's voice although, not much range has a nice tonal quality to it. Celine, the greatest singer of all time in my opinion commented "il chant aussi, il chant tres bien. Maybe the commentor below, myfeeling4you is comparing him to Celine. In which case we all fail, don't we?

Actually the song was first sung by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes, in the fillm "An Officer and a Gentleman" and the original lyrics were "love lift us up..."
Later, BeBe & CeCe recorded the song and replace "love" by "Lord"

Okay first of all the original song was by Bebe and Cece Winans where as it says "Lord lift us up where we belong".. Not Love, but correct me where I am wrong.
